Infuriating scenes in Amsterdam. They make my blood boil. Feels like Europe 1939!
Mobs waiting for Jews. There was a video of some guy begging for his life and offering the assailants his wallet and possessions while they kick him to the ground, or the video of the mob chasing down and beating a Jew in broad daylight, or the video of the lynch mob demanding to see a man’s passport as to whether he is Jewish or not so they know whether to beat him up. Or being forced to jump into canals to save themselves.
Over 60 arrests, and Jews were even told to shelter in places to be safely evacuated.
The Dutch PM has already condemned this as a deliberate antisemitic attack.

Some people may say that the Israeli football fans “antagonised” people with their shouting and tearing down flags etc. However, no amount of stupid, angry, or disrespectful chants (or bad behaviour) justifies beating-up anyone from that country that we can find, and throwing them into the river etc.
What happened cannot be attributed to everyday hooliganism.
It was open violence against Jews & Israelis.
Very bad. It's a bad time to be Jewish, more than usually.
ReplyDeleteYeap. An extremely tough time.
DeleteThe real problem is not the hatred of the Jews and the hatred of the Israelis, it existed throughout history and still exists, we live with it and we will always get along, we are still fighting for our lives here and we will get along with that too, the real problem is that Europe was conquered by Muslims, they do not respect the culture And the laws of the places they went to, Holland, Sweden and soon also England, France and other Scandinavian countries, Germany and more, in all of them the multiplying populations of Muslims created a difficult reality from which there will be no way back.
ReplyDeleteYes. Whole mass migration and a belief in multiculturalism (i.e. no need for integration and people living in separate communes) is path to the postmodern western society. It has riven new social problems.
DeleteUsually, Dutches are harbinger of decency and human rights. This is beyond reproach
ReplyDeletewell said roe.
DeleteSad and sickening.
ReplyDeleteroentare wrote exactly what I was thinking. The Dutch have been always been models of decency to, and safety for Jews. Therefore we have to hope that the mobs waiting for the Jews were not Dutch.
ReplyDeleteThis is an unimaginable reality, the attack on the Israelis was well planned in advance, taxi drivers, the majority of whom are Muslims, cooperated with the rioters, Israel sent rescue planes to 3000 people who were beaten and bruised and left without passports or money that was robbed from them.
ReplyDeleteAnd to add a little more color to our imaginary reality, I will only say that this morning at six o'clock, I woke up from the alarm because of a ballistic missile sent from Yemen, with me in the shelter to which I ran with my eyes closed were some young neighbors and their small children and the dog Bella who was very frightened.. Now I see smoke over the nearby hills there Fragments of the missile fell on people's cars in the neighboring small town.
Yeal, yes you are right. I read about the missiles hitting israel today.
DeleteThinking of you all.
Dreadful, and I really don't know what these awful people have achieved other than to harm.
ReplyDeleteYael's comments worry me because at work I knew a lot of Moslem students who were ordinary people from ordinary families wanting to live aspirational Western lives and fit. Their parents were usually very proud of them. The thought that there are militant Islamists among us wanting to dictate how we live, prepared to attack other groups in this way, i.e. wanting to change how we live, is disturbing.
ReplyDeleteThere are good Muslims as well as some bad Jews. I intended to draw attention to a process that is happening in many European countries and it is time to pay attention to it.
