Changing blog title & address - your opinions

Hello bloggers,

Please give me some feedback.

For some time I’ve wanted to change the “jeeveshat” title and blog address.
Jeeves is part of the P.G. Wodehouse stories, which isn’t what this blog is about.

Q1) Should I change the blog title & address?
Yes/No.

Q2) Idea to buy my own domain? - so doesn’t have “blogspot.com” at end?
Yes/No.

Q3) Which of these titles/addresses are the best ones (let’s say top 2)?
  • TwistedArtBlog
  • AngloArtBlog
  • WalkInArt  - a bit pretentious?
  • LiamsArtBlog
  • OnceAMonkey
  • ArtVulture - my favourite, short and snappy, and I like the vulture image.
  • MonkeyArtBiz
  • OTHER ........
Q4) Colour scheme - thinking of changing blog theme from green to blue?
Yes/No.

Q5) Current blog post font size - is it too big?
Yes/No.

Q6) Any other blog changes you think would be good?
...

  1. Us elderlies dislike changes, especially with blog names. Unless the new name refers to the old name eg LiamsArtBlog. The green is fine and the font size is fine.

I love your art history, exhibitions and film.

  2. 1. If you stay on Blogger and change your address to yournewblogname.blogspot.com, you will essentially create a new blog, unconnected to this one, losing all your past posts, archives and current blog followers. Perhaps that's what you want to do, I don't know.

You can easily change your blog's name simply by installing a new banner, while keeping the old blog address (and everything that comes along with it). Many bloggers just do that when they refresh their blog. Who cares if the blog address doesn't reflect the current blog name?

    2. Why pay to blog when Blogger is free? Also, blogs with a personal domain name need to install some device so people can follow it easily and receive notifications of new posts. And even then, I have found it dicey if I actually do ever receive any notifications from them, especially if it's a .com address.

    3. How about "Liam Loves Art!"

    4. Personally, I like blue.

    5. No, your font size is okay. I certainly wouldn't make it any smaller. But larger is good for us older folks with failing eyesight.

    6. No other suggestions that I can think of.

  3. It's up to you what you do and if and how to change your blog, even with opinions it's your decision.
Text could be a bit larger but only next size up if you are going to use the same font. I like blue as with green so many shades of each to choose.
If you wish to get your own domain I would choose your choice.
If you do change your blog name, then leave a link to it one this blog so we can visit and put your new blog in our own list.

  4. Change can be good so long as you don't lose your past posts or your followers. Everyone has said everything - I have nothing to add.

  5. Having your own domain depends very much on your view of your blog for the future and in what direction you want it go in terms of readership and status. If you decide to go down the domain name route you would not lose your posts on this blog because they would transfer. It is not a simple task but it can be done as I am sure you are aware. As an example, Tasker did it in reverse and nothing was lost from one to the other.

As for name, I like the short favourite quirky one that you like although I personally have not associated your blog purely with art and see it as wider than that. However that is up to you.

The colour blue is the most successful corporate colour chosen by companies and would be a good choice.

The font size is fine and if readers wish to increase it they can do so on their own machines when reading by increasing it. I would leave it as it is.

    I hope that helps.

  6. As other people say, you can change your heading without having to change the blogger name. Though Jeeve's Hat maybe. Don't take any notice of me but play around in the 'layout' section. Try another blog on Blogger, think I have three.
A new start on another site will complicate things, everyone seems to be in Substack at the moment. All new sites need adjustment though.
