Pro-Palestine groups splattering Senate House with red paint on Saturday morning.
They “Protest at failure to act against Israel’s ‘genocide’ in Gaza, say pro-Palestinians.”
But ... what is the University of Cambridge expected to do to resolve the Hamas-Israel war?
Apparently, “it is unclear whether it can be cleaned in time for the ceremonies”.
Lucky you, you"ve already graduated, so no need to be close to the 'scene of crime'
ReplyDeleteHi Duta
DeleteIndeed, I hope it's cleaned in time for the new crop.
Just like Jerry Seinfeld's shows being visited by hecklers in Melbourne. It makes no sense how that achieves anything
ReplyDeleteIt gives the participants a huge adrenaline surge. They get to feel like they are fighting them system.
DeleteIt's all self-absorbed & narcissistic.
What a shame, makes no sense to me at all why they would do that as it won't achieve anything but work for those who have to remove it.
ReplyDeleteI expect this action made the perpetrators feel good. What a waste of time and energy.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that, in cases like this, the motive is really to do anything about the war. The claim that Israel is committing a "genocide" shows that these people are not to be taken seriously anyway. Rather, these are simply people of the type who enjoy tormenting others and smashing things. Whatever cause they attach themselves to merely provides them with a pretext for indulging their destructive impulses, while feeling virtuous. If it hadn't been one cause it would have been another. Which cause they attach themselves to is probably more or less random, just a matter of what happens to be in the news at a given time or fashionable in their social circles.
ReplyDeleteQuite.
DeleteBut the truth is that Israel is an obsession to so many leftists and marxists and hard-right maniacs.
They don't give a monkeys about the horrors of war and conflict in other parts of the world (which are often much worse) ... except for Israel.
Otherwise, I quite agree.
